Our Shop in Maine |
Our
Aunt Marie opened the Fabric Garden in 1978 with Kala (owner).
Since opening day, much has changed. Each week we continue to add new
fabrics and products.
At last count there are over 9,500 bolts of fabrics to choose from.
We try to have lot of different products, and there's always something new
coming in or happening.
We don't like to be bored - so why should you?

"Our
Husband Bench"

|
Aunt Marie was quite the gardener before she passed.
She kept the outside of
the store blooming like an English garden.
In her honor and memory,
we keep The Fabric Garden alive
with cheerful flowers in the spring,
summer and fall.

About The Area |
We are located on Route 201 in Madison, just north of the Skowhegan town line and
minutes away from the
Kennebec River (left) and some of the prettiest lakes in
the area.
Lake Wesserunsett (right) is just north, a serene and beautiful body of water which offers
public boat access and golden opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming and more. |
Come to the Fair!
Just south of us is the Skowhegan State Fair Ground.
This is the oldest continuous agricultural fair in the country!
They also host numerous horse shows,
snowmobile races, car events and more.
There's always something happening at the fair!
|
Hit the links!
About five minutes north you will find the Lakewood Golf Course.
This is an 18-hole, par 72 course cut into the beautiful Maine Woods.
Lakewood offers a challenging and welcoming course, nestled amongst the white pines
with gorgeous mountain views. |
Historic Lakewood Theater
Located on the shores of Lake Wesserunsett, Lakewood Theater is America's oldest Summer Theater,
and the "Official Theater of the State of Maine". Live theater at it's best - you'll feel like you're stepping back in time.
Complete the experience with a lakeside stroll to enjoy the view.
|
Wet and Wild Rafting
Some seriously fun rapids are north of us!
The Kennebec and Dead rivers provide consistent Class II, III, and IV rapids.
A roller coaster, only wetter.
|
World's Largest Sculpted Indian
62 feet tall and crafted by renowned sculptor Bernard Langlais of Cushing,
this giant watches over downtown Skowhegan.
|
And so much more.
We're a short drive from one of the best ski resorts in New England.
Sugarloaf, USA is less than 35 miles from our door, and provides year-round fun.
Hiking, mountain climbing, snow boarding and skiing.

So make a day of it, or stay for a while. There's much to see and do here.
And be sure to stop in when you're in the area!
